the Cuckoo's Nest This year, during the International Filmfestival Rotterdam the Calypso will be transformed into The Cuckoo's Nest. For 11 days The Cuckoo's Nest will host a wide range of acts and activities centered around the theme Cinema and New Media in Dance Culture. The Cuckoo's Nest itself consist of five separate but integrated elements: The Cuckoo's Nest itself: The evening programme in the main hall where (international) filmmakers, composers, VJ's and DJ's will explore cross-overs between Cinema, New Media and Dance Culture. Subscope: Alternative Cinema in the Calypso Movie Theatre.The Visitors Cut will offer visitors the opportunity to make their own Directors cut from a selection of films released by the IFFR. The SFX-gallery is an installation providing an overview of the development of special effects throughout the years and In the restaurant visitors can enjoy a meal in cinematic style. Mainly Rotterdam based, the Cuckoo's Nest is an open cooperation between a multitude of (cultural) organizations and aims to attract a broad range of visitors. Apart from being a place where visitors can relax and enjoy themselves, the Cuckoo's Nest wants to be an exciting supplement to the Filmfestival.

Visitor's Cut You can decides what movie is showing next. Select your own movie and create your own festival in one of our livings from a balanced selction of motion pictures. We will show a selection of Tiger Releases of the IFFR. The Visitor's Cut open from 12.00 in the afternoon and closes at 04:00 at night. Creating your own festival at the Visitor's Cut is Free of charge. Deceptive Diner A movie-inspired Diner with big and small meals from Scorcese's Ossobuco to Kronenberg's Coq au Gun. Your Deceptive Dinner will be served by Restaurant La Rana. Restaurant La Rana Is al jaren onderdeel van theaterfestival de Parade als Spaans restaurant. Verzorgt daarnaast ook catering op locatie voor diverse film-, televisie- en theaterprodukties. Verzorgt catering op verzoek voor bedrijven en privé voor groepen van 10 tot 1000 personen. Gezelschappen voor wie we o.a. het afgelopen jaar gewerkt hebben: Parade in Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Amsterdam en Barcalona Crew en cast van Varaproduktie Oppassen SBS produktie Luifel en Luifel Diverse videoclips Crew en band van Golden Earring Nationaal Toneel Internationaal georiënteerd, gespecialiseerd in de Spaanse/Mediterrane keuken.
